Fifteen of a possible 20 high school baseball teams from The Trentonian 's coverage area will be in the mix for a state title when the 2023 New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletics Association Tournament starts Monday. The highest seeded team of the locals is Steinert, the top seed in Central Jersey Group III. Head coach Brian Giallella's 16-8 Spartans will open state play versus 16th-seeded Neptune (9-10) at 4 p.m. Monday at Rich Giallella Field. This game will also be live-streamed on wbcbsports.
