PERTH AMBOY – Banners will soon line the streets downtown to honor the city men and women who have served in the military.The city is initiating a Hometown Hero banner display and is seeking the submission of applications by Feb. 28. There is no cost to apply.The double-sided banners measuring 2-by-4 feet will feature the person's name and photo, the branch of the military service and credentials and will be displayed on light poles in the city business districts along Smith and State streets, as well as New Brunswick, Amboy and Hall avenues.
